Only Watch 2017 – Tudor Black Bay Bronze One – LHD / Khaki Green
Let’s be honest, the unique Patek and F.P.Journe for Only Watch 2017 we’ve just introduced to you earlier today are indeed really important?pieces… But let’s not forget the brand that surprised everyone back in 2015, with a watch that sold for multiples of?its pre-sale estimate: Tudor. For the 7th Edition of the charity auction, they are back, with a unique left handed and?Khaki Green Bronzo, the?Tudor Black Bay Bronze One.
Two years ago, at Only Watch 2015, Tudor rocked the event?by presenting a unique Black version of the Heritage Black Bay, a watch that was prefiguring a future commercial watch (the Black Bay Black 79220N). This watch caused a sensation, as it reached approximately 100 times the price of a standard Black Bay, at CHF 375,000. Clearly, collectors had shown their enthusiasm for?it by bidding – hard. This year, for Only Watch 2017, Tudor had no other choice than to bring another ultra-cool piece. And here it is, the?Tudor Black Bay Bronze One.
This?Tudor Black Bay Bronze One for Only Watch 2017 is based on the highly desirable?Heritage Black Bay Bronze 79250BM, which had been originally introduced at Baselworld 2016. Much more than just representing a change of material for the case, this was a major update of the Black Bay. Its case, which was made in a specific?aluminium bronze alloy, typically used in naval engineering, was larger at 43mm. The dial had also been updated with a surprising, yet quite cool 3-6-9 layout. Finally, the watch introduced?a distinctive?brown dial and bezel, meanwhile inside, Tudor had implemented their?new in-house movement, calibre MT5601.
For Only Watch 2017, the choice has been taken?to veer to the left, and to turn it green. Indeed, the?Tudor Black Bay Bronze One is, as seen in the Pelagos, a lefty or LHD, with the winding crown positioned on the left side of the case – thus made to be?worn on the right wrist. The other update concerns the color of the dial and bezel. Here, Tudor refers to military codes, with a?Khaki Green (also for the strap), replacing the brown color used on the standard version.
The Tudor?Black Bay Bronze One ref. 7925/001 is still equipped with the manufacture?Calibre, here the MT5601-LHD, a chronometer-rated movement with 70h power reserve and antimagnetic properties, modified to have the crown on the left side. The watch will be delivered with a?Khaki-green and beige fabric strap with bronze buckle and an additional aged brown leather strap with bronze buckle.
An additional and unique experience:?the future owner of the Tudor Black Bay Bronze One will get the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to visit Tudor’s?Headquarters in Geneva. This exceptional invitation for one person, a first for Tudor, which runs no visitor program, will include travel expenses.
Only Watch?is a?biennial fundraiser for research on muscular dystrophy -? Association Mon?gasque contre les Myopathies (AMM).?Organized under the patronage of HSH Albert II de Monaco, the 7th edition gathers a record 48 participants. Only Watch 2017 will be auctioned by Christie?s in Geneva in November 2017. For more information, please visit www.onlywatch.com.
